Our Journey from 2015
In 2015, my husband and I decided to help families in my hometown of Nakuru, Kenya, who were struggling with daily living. We started by feeding families in need of food. With the help of friends in Kenya, we identified families in the greatest need. We also helped during holidays like Christmas, when many families gather for a feast, but some continue their regular day of hustling as if there was no holiday. We made it our goal to buy food for as many families as we could. Over time, we realized that many of these families had children who performed very well in school but could not move forward because of a lack of school fees. We chose five high-performing students and enrolled them in schools that accepted them. Since then, we have continued supporting families in need—providing food, helping with school fees, and opening small businesses for families so they can support themselves.
